"Mom, I'm bored!"

If I had a dime for every time my kids say that, well ... I'd have about two dimes ... tops.  Seriously, my chicklets give me their fair share of grief, but complaining about being bored is just not on the docket.  The flip side of that, unfortunately is between the three of them they come up with some pretty stressful (for me anyway) ideas to keep themselves busy.

Like the time last week when Boy Wonder took the sides off the wagon, sat the Little Prince in it, attached it to the back of his bike and peddled as fast as he could down the driveway. Yeah, that so had "bad outcome" written all over it.  By the grace of God, the Little Prince was wearing a helmet and managed to avoid any major damage to his person.

Or last night when The Munchkin decided that the large plastic dinosaurs she was playing with needed to learn to fly ... right over an antique lampshade I inherited from my grandparents.  Can you say heart attack?   Again fortunately for all concerned, the lampshade survived and I can say so did The Munchkin:)

Don't even get me started on the Little Prince.  That pint-sized barrel of mischief is going to be the death of me yet.  He has very little concept of fear and gets himself into situations where it is a true miracle he has not sustained serious bodily harm.  Short of one trip to the ER for a possible concussion when he threw himself off the kitchen chair last Christmas Eve (one of the true highlights of our Christmas Season) he has only suffered minor bumps and bruises from all of his escapades. Praise God!

Your children tell you casually years later
what it would have killed you with worry to know at the time.

So if you'll excuse me I am off to see if I can ascertain what mayhem has ensued while I've been penning this post.  The house is quiet and I can only pray that's a good thing.  At the very least I know the Little Prince is safe  and sound ... he's recharging taking a nap:)

I think it's great that big brother wants to play with little brother. I'm assuming his intentions are pure.......

Jill...Yes, he does love his little bro'... BTW your comment inspired my next post.

Courtney ... Sadly, I have to admit sometimes it's me doing the whining, but not because I don't have plenty to do ... it's more of a "work avoidance" thing:)
